NATIONAL AND LOCAL ADVANCE DIRECTIVE ISSUES

The PNWU End-of-Life Planning Committee has scheduled an opportunity for family members to learn about issues faced during end-of-life care and the bevy of decisions that must be made.  Attendance is free
Learn:
What is an advance directive?
What is hospice care?
What is palliative care?

Local service providers will be on hand to answer questions about nursing homes, assisted living centers, adult family homes, senior retirement communities, and veterans’ services.

Learn the difference between a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR), Physicians Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (POLST), and an advance directive. Families are encouraged to attend together to learn about their rights as patients and patients’ families.
